Pluto in Aquarius

I can’t say that I know Pluto personally. I mean, I haven’t met him face to face, yet. He has been in the back of my mind for years. Quite literally, because he’s been in my 12th house since 2008. If I were to lie, say how I’d like it to be then I’d say I’m indifferent about it. If I have to be honest, I’m terrified and looking forward to it all at once. One thing I learned about astrology is that in the first moments after planets ingress into a new zodiacal sign are indicative of what it will mean on a personal and non personal level for the rest of that planet’s stay in the sign.

Pluto is our greatest strength and our deepest pain. Can you think of anything more human than that? Can you think of anything that unifies all the people more than the experience of deep suffering? Can you imagine anything that resonates more with people than a story about heartbreak? Everyone has a story like that. And then a story about how they overcame it. If they are wise, they will also tell you how it made them stronger.

This is not to scare anyone or say that Pluto ingress Aquarius will bring terrible things for all of us. You cannot predict those things. It’s not how astrology works. Astrology should not make you fear the future. If anything, astrology should help you understand the present. It should help you see yourself. See the astrological wheel as if it were a mirror to your soul.

Once you’ve seen your own demons other people’s don’t scare you as much. And I haven’t only faced my demons. I’ve met them. I’ve talked to them. I poured them tea. We discussed the weather and politics. They’ve tried to kill me a few time and I them. It’s a pointless pursuit trying to kill your own demons. So we learned to coexist. We see value in each other now. I understand what they’ve wanted all along. They wanted to be seen, to be heard, and understood.

It’s not so scary anymore - the demons, the monsters, the hidden leviathans in people’s souls. Once you’ve gotten to know yours, become friends with them, it’s not as terrifying getting to know other people’s demons.

Again, Pluto doesn’t always have to be terrible. It has to be honest. Think about where you are lying to yourself or don’t. Pluto will show you either way.
